The Barn (formerly Barn Palais)

The Barn (formerly Barn Palais) has been a popular music venue and nightclub located in Mount Gambier since its opening in 1937.  Holding up to 1000 people, it has been a staple of Mount Gambier nightlife and the live music scene.  Over the years, it has hosted hundreds of local, national, and international acts, most notably The Seekers in 1962, prior to them leaving for England.  During the 1970s and 1980s, The Barn hosted a major act at least once a month on a Wednesday night, on their way through to Adelaide.  Some of the big names that played The Barn during this time were Men at Work, John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, Icehouse and Mondo Rock.

In the 2000s, The Barn underwent renovations. The new design maintained the venue's original charm while incorporating state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.  The Barn's enduring popularity is a testament to its rich history, adaptability, and dedication to the local community.
