The Wheatsheaf Hotel, situated in Thebarton and affectionately known as ‘The Wheaty’, is a beloved Adelaide institution and a hub for live music, particularly in the folk, roots, blues and acoustic genres.  Established in 1878, The Wheatsheaf's rich music heritage spans decades, with the venue hosting an incredible array of local, national, and international acts. Its walls have resonated with the sounds of folk, rock, blues, and roots music.  In the 1970s and 1980s, The Wheatsheaf became a focal point for Adelaide's thriving folk scene, hosting iconic acts like Ted Egan and Eric Bogle.

The Wheaty features live music performances across multiple stages, including the iconic Band Room and the intimate Front Bar. The venue has played host to countless memorable shows, from up-and-coming local talent to visiting international artists. The Wheatsheaf is deeply committed to supporting local musicians, hosting numerous benefits, fundraisers, and community events throughout the year.
